Steamboat Springs is a city in northern Colorado’s Yampa Valley. The Steamboat ski resort has 6 peaks including Mount Werner. With 3741 acres, 182 trails, 23 lifts, and 314” of snow per year, there is abundant mountain to fill your week!
The city’s geothermal hot springs are said to have therapeutic properties. Near the city center, the long-standing Old Town Hot Springs is equipped with swimming and soaking pools, plus water slides.
This is a Florida Ski Council trip with a welcome reception, a sunset party on the mountain, NASTAR racing and mountain lunch, and a themed Farewell Party.
Pensacola will also host an Apres ski Tuesday evening and our annual pizza/leftover party Friday evening.
We are lodging at Chateaux Chamonix just steps from the Stampede green run which ends at the Steamboat Gondola. We will be sleeping at 6900’ minimizing altitude issues. Your skis will be stored in their clubhouse along with boot dryers. All the units are in Building 3 which is not slopeside but a short 50 yard walk to the clubhouse/ski storage. All buildings have washer/dryers, elevators and one assigned parking space.

Whitefish Resort (base elev 4500’) is locally owned and is 7 miles from the town of Whitefish. Entertainment at the mountain is limited, so we are staying OFF MOUNTAIN at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake - a very posh condominium with an on-site restaurant and bar.
The lodge has its own shuttles to take you to the mountain or town. Also, The Lodge is a stop on the free Snow Bus route that runs constantly between the town and the mountain.
The trip is configured this way so your week off-mountain will have easy access to the town’s many restaurants, bars, shops, and other activities. Anybody for ice fishing?

Tucked high in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico, Taos Ski Valley is a place
where nature still feels vast, wild, and alive. Here, breathtaking peaks, wide-open skies, and acres of
pristine National Forest stretch in every direction.
For centuries, these lands have offered sustenance and inspiration to those who live and visit here.
Whether you come for epic skiing and snowboarding, mountain hiking, culinary delights or simply
bearing witness to the natural beauty, Taos Ski Valley welcomes you.
This is a Florida Ski Council trip with a club welcome reception, two dinners, lunch on the mountain and
the chance to participate in Tao’s Famous Ski Week (six half day coaching sessions, après ski talks and a
conclusion party) at a discounted cost.
We have secured 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom condos at Edelweiss Lodge and Spa. This is a ski-in/ski-out
property with onsite dining, a bar, outdoor hot tub & sauna, day spa & fitness center, ski lockers & ski
valet and much more.

I had the pleasure of going to UWF Building 71 and touring some of the displays they have in the Office of International Affairs related to Japan. I also attended the Japanese Language & Culture Community event held at St. Sylvester's Church on February 21st hosted by World Languages UWF.Feel free to visit Building 71 yourselves. While there, I was given names of people who might be interested in educating a few of us before we embark on the trip to Japan. So know that I will be working on scheduling that before we depart--more of pretrip education before pretrip party!
Three simple words to know before you go:
Thank You - Arigato
Hello - Kon'nichiwa
